[Classes 65 (i) and 65 (ii)] A safety device for casement windows &c. comprises a support bracket or half hinge a adapted to be fixed to the hinge side window frame F and having hinged thereto a flap b provided with a slot b<2> for sliding engagement with a stud c<3> on a guide plate c fixed to the hinge side of the window. The stud can be disengaged from the slot through an enlargement b<3> only when the window is closed.
