Class 80(2) [Also in Group XXXI] A clutch plate 11 is splined to the hub 10 of an engine driven roller 6 in driving engagement with a cycle tyre 7 (see Group XXXI), other clutch plates 12a, 12b being splined to a member 13 having an annular flange 16. The hub 19 of the plate 12a is keyed to the engine crankshaft 3, a spacer 38 being arranged between the hub 19 and bearings 8 of the roller, and the member 13 has six recesses 18 each housing a spring 17 acting on the plate 12a to urge the plates together against the flange 16 to drive the roller. By means of a fork member 21 acting through a bearing 25 the member 13 is moved to the right to declutch the drive. Movement of the member 21 is controlled through a Bowden cable by a twist grip which conjointly controls engine speed. Specifications 682,240 [Group XXVII] and 750,478 are referred to.
