Abstract

747,415. Television receivers. DECCA RECORD CO., Ltd. May 25, 1954 [May 29, 1953], No. 15073/53. Class 40 (3). [Also in Group XX] A projection-type television receiver comprises a cabinet having a rear portion 11 housing a screen 12 arranged therein so as to be withdrawable upwardly and a front portion 10 carrying a projection system 16 or a part thereof. The front portion is hinged to the rear portion, so that the projector may be brought to an operative position, and is attached by cords 20 to the screen whereby its outward movement positions the screen. As shown, the front portion comprises the front panel 13 of the cabinet to which is hinged the top 14 and triangular portions 15 of the side walls. The top may carry the whole projector unit as shown or may carry only a mirror part with the remainder of the projector mounted either on the lower part of the front panel or in the rear portion of the cabinet. Spring balances may be provided to counter the weights of the moving parts, and spring catches may retain the parts in their open and closed positions. A hinged leg 22 is provided in the front panel.
