747,317. Endless belt conveyers; moving platforms; roller conveyers. STEPHENSADAMSON MANUFACTURING CO. May 31, 1954, No. 16035/54. Class 78 (1). In a conveyer system comprising conveyers 12, 14 running at different speeds and a connecting conveyer 13, the conveyer 13 is composed of shafts 15 each carrying a number of rubber-tyred rolls 16 and each being driven independently through a constant torque coupling 17 and speed reducer 18. The shafts are driven at progressively different speeds and a load 20 is supported by more than one of them at any time. Each coupling 17 includes a slip coupling having a pre-set torque value such that the torque required to produce slip-page in each coupling is less than the torque required to produce slippage between the rolls and the load.
