[Also in Group XXX] A device for raising and lowering invalids from and into a bath comprises a jack system consisting, as shown, of an hydraulic cylinder 5 and piston 7 and an invalid support 22 carried by the piston 7 and piston-rod 8 and rotatable about the axis of the rod 8 when in its top position shown in chain lines and the guide 13 is clear of the slotted cover 10, and movable vertically as the guides 13 and 14 slide in these slots in the cover, the slots being of such depths relative to the guides that when outside the bath the support can be lowered only to the fulldrawn position while, when rotated through 180 degrees, it can be fully lowered into the bath 1. The device may, as shown, be rigidly attached to the floor, or it may be mounted on a movable carriage.
