742,177. Gas cookers; hot plates. GENERAL GAS APPLIANCES, Ltd. Sept. 21, 1953 [July 4, 1952], No. 16797/52. Class 126. A gas cooker comprises a frame supporting a hot plate formed by two half sections in such manner as to provide a marginal free space along at least one edge of each section which serves as an outlet for products of combustion should the hot plate be overcrowded with utensils, the said sections each comprising a rectangular edge portion, two utensil supporting rings level with and connected to said edge portion and a plurality of radial armsprojectingfrom said rings, which arms, together with the respective rings, form utensil supporting areas which are level with the top of the plate. The half section shown in Fig. 2 comprises edge portion 11, 12, 13, 14, rings 15 and radial arms 17. In a modification each group of arms 17 supports a ring concentric with its associated ring 15 whilst in a further modification, Fig. 4, radial arms 56 are connected in pairs by arcuate portions 57. , In this modification the arms 56, part 62 and portions 57 are of slightly greater thickness than the remainder of the half section and thus form strengthening ribs therefor.
