Abstract

740,673. Roller bearings. BRINKMANN, H. Feb. 8, 1954 [Feb. 7, 1953; Dec. 11, 1953], No. 3618/54. Class 12 (1). A thrust bearing comprises rollers 4 arranged on radially disposed bolts 5 in a cage member 1, the rollers being separated by plates 6 located in grooves 7 in the cage 1. Thus the centrifugal force acting on each roller is transmitted directly to the cage 1 through the adjacent outwardly disposed plate 6. The bolts 5 are hollow and may have the closed end at the inner or outer periphery of the cage 1. Pins 10 retain the bolts 5 in position. Lubrication grooves are formed in the rollers 4, bolts 5, plates 6 and cage 1.
