Abstract

738,241. Electrostatic filters. METALLGES. AKT.-GES. Sept. 25, 1953 [Oct. 23, 1952], No. 26495/53. Class 39 (1). In an electrostatic precipitator of the plate type, the discharge electrodes are mounted in rectangular frames 2 arranged one behind the other and carried on two sides by cross-pieces 4, 10 from which they are readily detachable. The crosspieces are rigidly suspended from the insulators 6 by rods 7, 9. The discharge electrodes are wires stretched between upper and lower U-shaped members of the frames and are maintained taut by springs. The rods 7 pass through the insulators 60 and are carried from the tops of the insulators by springs. Sprinkling devices are provided above the electrode assembly. Several assemblies with fields of differing strengths may be mounted in line.
