Abstract

707,103. Electrostatic filters. HEINRICH, R. F. Nov. 16, 1951, No. 26884/51. Class 39(1) In a two-stage electrostatic precipitator each of the electrodes of the collecting zone consists of a number of elongated flat hollow boxes arranged in line with one another. The boxes 2 forming the collecting electrodes are placed with their longer sides vertical and those 1 forming the other electrodes are placed with their longer sides horizontal. The boxes are mounted in channelled members 3 and 4. The boxes are open at each end and the edges are rounded. The collecting electrodes 2 are rapped by means of a flat member provided with spigots projecting into the lower ends of each of the boxes. Provision is also made for rapping the other electrodes. The boxes 1 are spaced apart by springs; alternate boxes are fixed to the supporting structure but the intermediate boxes are free to move.
