737,734. Electrostatic precipitation. ELECTRONATOM CORPORATION. Oct. 16, 1951 [Oct. 19, 1950], No. 24114/51. Drawings to Specification. Class 39 (1). An apparatus for electrical precipitation comprises a cylindrical container outwardly flared at one end and having a converging restriction at the other, and disposed within the container a conductor carrying a current. A strong field which may be unidirectional or alternating is established between the conductor and the container. The conductor may be eccentrically mounted. Several eccentric conductors may be provided. The container may be of insulating material but carrying conductive strips, one opposite each of these conductors. The conductor may be of platinum or of platinum and iridium. The container may be of brass.
