[Also in Group XXX] In a jigging screen of the kind in which troughs 1, 2, one or each of which is a screen, oscillate in opposite directions, each trough is supported by rubber springs 5 composed of a block of rubber permanently connected to two oppositely disposed parallel metal plates and the drive P imparts oscillations to the troughs in opposite directions which substantially coincide with the direction of movement of the parallel plates when the latter subject the springs to shearing stresses. The upper plates are connected to the troughs and the lower ones to supports 9. An eccentric shaft 10 mounted on the trough 1 has eccentrics at each end which are engaged by thrust-rods 11 linked to the trough 2.
