Abstract
732,382. Stop motions. PEARSON, E. Nov. 9, 1953 [Nov. 8, 1952], No. 28178/52. Class 120(2). In a stop motion for textile machines a trip cord is mounted below a line of slivers passing from one operation to another such that a broken sliver falling onto the trip causes the cord to actuate an electric switch to stop the machine. In the arrangement shown one end of a cord A is attached to a control arm or lever B of an electric switch such that should the cord A be caused to sag by a broken sliver falling onto it the cord operates the lever B to stop the machine. The other end of cord A is attached to a lever D of a dash-pot arrangement adapted to maintain the cord A taut under varying atmospheric conditions.
