732,241. Retreading tyres. CHANNEL ISLANDS TYRE CO., Ltd. Aug. 21, 1953 [Aug. 21, 1952], No. 21055/52. Class 87 (2). The uncured tread material 3 is placed in the mould before the tyre carcase is inserted. The flanges 4 may therefore be deeper than where the tread material is fixed to the carcase before insertion into the mould and thus allow full width of tread to be moulded. The tread material may be vulcanized directly to the roughened surface of the carcase.
