Abstract

731,361. Endless chain conveyers. RENOLD CHAINS, Ltd., [formerly RENOLD & COVENTRY CHAIN CO., Ltd.]. May 19, 1953 [May 19, 1952], No. 12554/52. Class 78 (1). In an endless conveyer, Figs. 1, 2, loadsupporting plates 22 are attached by members 12 to an endless roller chain consisting of inner link plates 2 mounted on bushes 4. carrying rollers 10, and outer link-plates 6 connected by pins 8 passing through the bushes. Each arm 14 of the member 12 is formed with two tapped holes for receiving grub-screws 18 engaging recesses in the pins 8, the screws being locked by nuts 20. Each plate 22 is secured to a member 12 by two screws 24. The plates may be smaller so that two may be secured to each chain link. The members 12 may serve as the load supports. In a modification, Fig. 3, the member 12 is formed of resilient material'and each of its arms 26 is formed with two dimples 28 engaging recesses in the ends of the pins 8. In a further modification, Fig. 4, two grubscrews 38 are provided in one arm 30 of the member 12, whilst the other arm is formed with two recesses 34 to receive the ends 36 of the pin 8.
