Abstract

737,330. Mounting idlers for belt conveyers. SUTCLIFFE, Ltd., R. March 5, 1954 [March 31, 1953], No. 8920/53. Class 78 (1). A rubber idler 15 for a belt conveyer is supported at each end from an arm 3 by a chain link 16, the arm being supported between bushes 6 of resilient material such as rubber, which are held between brackets 2 secured to a base-plate 1. The brackets and the arm are formed with fluted surfaces 5, 11 respectively, and bolts 7 extending through the arm, bushes and brackets are provided with nuts 8 to alter the compression in the bushes and thereby allow troughing of the roller to the desired amount. The lower end 10 of each arm 3 is connected by a link 12 to a lever 13, pivoted at 14, whereby the movement of the arms is equalized and the material maintained centrally of the belt.
