Abstract
731,245. Hydraulic cranes; grab forks. WEYHAUSEN, H., [trading as WEYHAUSEN MASCHINENFABRIK H.]. Nov. 7, 1950 [March 23, 1950; March 23, 1950], No. 27231/50. Classes 78 (3) and 78 (4). The jib 4 of a crane removably carried by a tractor slews through 360 degrees and is luffed by a hydraulic ram 13, the piston of which is pivoted to the jib and which slews with the jib. As shown, the ram 13 is secured.to a column 5 which slews with the jib relatively to a support 6 comprising four legs secured to a bearing ring on the column and connected by stays 17 to one another and by stays 18 to the footstep bearing. The jib may be slewed by the power take-off shaft of the tractor carrying the .crane and may be capable also of a powered telescoping movement. A grab carried by the jib comprises members 7 carrying tines 8 and connected by links 9 to the piston-rod 10 of a ram 11 pivoted at 3 to the jib 4 coaxially with bars 12 to which the members 7 are pivoted; slots in the bars 12 guide the pin connecting the piston-rod 10 to the links 9. The jib 4 may be tubular and the conduits carrying pressure oil to the rams 13, 11 may be disposed within the jib and the column 5.
