Abstract

A case containing a floor-spring mechanism is adjustable longitudinally in a fixed outer casing ; angular adjustment for centring the door is preferably also provided. In the form shown the inner casing a is guided beneath the pivot by a shallow projection between two longitudinal ribs on the bottom of the outer casing d, and may be secured to the outer casing at that end by screws engaging clearance slots in it. At the outer end shown, the inner casing a has a flange j near the top, with a slot u through which a screw t penetrates into a square nut slidable longitudinally in a block formed in the end of the outer casing d; a screw n with its head held captive in a recess in the block engages the nut so that rotation of the screw adjusts the casing a longitudinally. Laterally adjustable blocks i, secured by screws k, engage inclined surfaces on the flange j to centre the casing a, lateral movement of this end of the casing being permitted by the slot u.
