729,811. Reciprocating pumps for liquids. METALURGICA JOTER, Ltd. June 11, 1953, [June 18, 1952], No. 16064/53. Class 102 (1). A multiple-cylinder comprises a non- rotating cylinder block 1 having circumferentially arranged bores 9a housing plungers 10 whose upper ends engage a non-rotatable swash-plate 13 ball-bearingly mounted on a rotatable driving shaft 16 to reciprocate the plungers. Liquid is sucked in rotation into the bores 9a from a common inlet 21 through suction valves constituted by semi-circular flaps cut in a leather disc 19, which is supported by an apertured metal plate 20, and discharged to a common outlet 6 through ports 8 controlled by a rubber ring 9.
