[Also in Group XXX] A mobile mechanical scoop or shovel comprising a four wheeled chassis with the engine 1 mounted at one end and the scoop or shovel 10 at the other has a robust rectangular frame 2 on which the wheel axles of large diameter tyre wheels 4 are mounted closely, one wheel at each side is directly driven through combined steering clutch and brake mechanism and the other wheel at each side is geared as by chain and sprocket to the driven wheel. The vehicle is steered by applying external brakes 7 to the wheels on one side of the vehicle while driving the wheels on the other
