Abstract
724,965. Suction cleaners. WHITE CAP CO. March 12, 1953 [March 26, 1952], No. 6815/53. Class 8 (1). [Also in Group XXIII] A pneumatic apparatus for cleaning containers e.g., bottles located mouth uppermost on a conveyer 10 comprises a downwardly directed pressure nozzle 50 supplied by a blower 46, a suction chamber 52 around the nozzle 50 having its open lower end at the same level as the nozzle discharge opening and its upper end connected to the inlet of a blower 65, a hood 8 surrounding said nozzle 50 and chamber 52 and also having its lower end level with those of the nozzle 50 and chamber 52, and a supporting platform 30 having means e.g.; a screw-threaded rod 22 secured thereto and engaging a fixed nut 21 carried by a column 18 secured to a stationary base 11 and surrounded by a platform guide sleeve 31 whereby the height of the nozzle 50, suction chamber 52 and hood 8 may be adjusted relative to the mouths of the bottles being cleared. The hood 8 is hinged to a housing 40 for the blower 65 and for a filter chamber 75 into which it discharges and has a lower apron-like portion which projects over a housing 14 forming part of the stationary base 11. The sleeve 31 and column 18 are prevented from relative rotation by a bolt 35 sliding in a slot 36, and the screw 22 is rotated from a head 23 projecting through the top of the housing 40.
