Abstract

720,918. Valves. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP BRONSWERK. April 14, 1963 [May 12, 1952], No. 10170/53. Class 135. A rotary plug gas tap having a hollow body portion, e.g. at the inner end of the plug socket, communicating via a passage 9 with the crossbore 7 in the plug for feeding a pilot burner through passages 10, 11 in which the plug is adapted to be locked, by a catch member 17a snapping into a cap aperture 21, in a position wherein only the pilot burner is fed and there is a preferably adjustable stop 23 for the plug, co-operating with the catch acting as an abutment, when the plug is rotated to supply a minimum heating flame, is characterized by a resilient plate 17 secured to the bottom face of the plug-operating handle 16 which, in cooperation with the handle, locks axially the cap 18 releasably secured to the tap body. The plate loads a spring 20 between the plate and the plug and carries the catch. The plug has two small bores, only one 8 being shown, which slant into the main bore 7. With the pawl abutting a stop diametrically opposite the capsecuring screw 19, the main and both small bores are closed. Rotation of the plug allows the pawl to snap into the aperture when the main bore is still closed but one of the small bores is open for feeding the pilot. On manually depressing the pawl the plug may be rotated to a position in which the main bore is fully open and both small bores closed, and then to a position in which one small bore is open, the main bore reduced for the minimum burner flame and the pawl abutting the stop 23. Main and pilot throttle 14, 12 respectively are provided.
