Abstract

716,503. Electromagnetic relays. SIEMENS BROS., & CO., Ltd. Sept. 26, 1952 [Oct. 12, 1951], No. 23854/51. Class 38(5) An electromagnetic relay comprises a metallic magnetic circuit consisting of a core 1, a pole piece 2, a yoke 3 and an armature 6. all made from material of rectangular cross section, the pole piece 2 and the yoke 3 projecting from the side of the core 1 and bent so that they lie in a plane parallel to. but different from, that of the core 1; the armature 6 bridging the gap between the pole piece 2 and the yoke 3 with the exception of an operative air gap between it and the pole piece. Either the pole piece or the yoke may be detachable from the core to allow a bobbin 8 to be assembled thereon, the yoke being bent at right angles to form a mounting member. The armature 6 is secured to the yoke 3 by means of a leaf spring 7. The core 1 has a flat spring 9 affixed thereto and bent to form a restoring spring for the armature 6. The contact spring assembly is operated by an insulating piece 15 which is fixed to the moving contacts 11, 11<SP>1</SP> and passes through the fixed contacts 12. 12<SP>1</SP> one of which 12 has another insulating piece 21 fixed to it.
