Abstract

714,271. Brassieres. ESCORA-CORSETFABRIK E., SCHMIDT GES. Nov. 21, 1951 [April 9, 1951], No. 27335/51. Class 141 A brassiÞre has separate fabric parts and pre-formed breast-supporting parts of layered material comprising a plastic foil with a layer of textile material on either side of it. As shown, the breast-supporting parts 2 are connected by a fabric strip 3 and united with retaining members 4, strap members 1 fastening at the back also being provided. Each breast-supporting part 2 is preferably formed integrally with a retaining member 4 and consists of a foil of polyvinyl chloride to which inner and outer layers of fibrous material are. secured. Alterriatively a single retaining member may be provided. The plastic foil may be non- uniform in thickness either gradually or step-wise and the side margins of the breast-supporting parts may be additionally stiffened.
