Class 122(1) The piston between the liquid and gas zones of a hydraulic accumulator has a stepped recess 27, 28 in which slides a differential piston member 23, the large face of which is exposed to the pressure of the liquid in space 14. Fluid in the reservoir 29 is thus subjected to a higher pressure and is led by passages 30. 31 to the sliding surface of the piston to resist fluid leakage.
