Pistons.-Accumulators of the air or gas-loaded type have a piston C having at one side a rod D to give a difference of pressure between the liquid and the air or gas. Two sets of oppositely disposed packing rings E, and a groove G communicating with the atmosphere through holes K, H are provided, the holes K leading to the upper part of the groove sc as to leave a channel below them for the retention of lubricant.
