708,495. Fluid-actuated valves. MAREK, J. 1. Aug. 5, 1952, No. 19692/52. Class 135. [Also in Group XXVII] A normally open flap valve 14 in a chamber 2 connected to a petrol pump at 8 and a carburetter float chamber is moved on to a seat 13 by a surge of petrol on acceleration in order to temporarily restrict the flow to the float chamber. The valve is pivoted at 16 and weighted at 18 to hold it open and the seat 13 is made convex or concave so that the valve when seated does not completely close the outlet 12.
