Classes 35 and 38 (2) Rotors suitable for small synchronous A.C. motors made by sintering, comprise a mixture of ferromagnetic and non-magnetic metals. Metal powders may be mixed in a mould, or a slightly compressed porous structure of the ferromagnetic powder may be impregnated with the non- magnetic metal. The proportion of non-magnetic metal may be higher at the periphery to act as a starting winding.
