Abstract
A sintered metal bonded graphite composition contains 10-70% by volume of aluminium and at least 0.1% by weight of at least one of the metals calcium, magnesium, barium and strontium. The composition may also contain at least one of the metals iron, cobalt, nickel, copper and silver and the calcium and barium may be added as silicides and the magnesium as magnesium ferro silicon. The mixed powders are compacted and sintered at 1800 DEG F. in vacuum.
