Abstract
705,278. Reinforced concrete ; floors; ceilings. KAISER, W. March 2, 1951 [July 4, 1950], No. 5170/51. Class 20 (4) Concrete reinforcement in the form of a light steel girder comprises two spaced profiled sheet metal elements 1, the monoplanar webs of each having one or more series of cut-out or pressed out strips, tongues or bulges 4 which are rigidly connected to corresponding parts of the opposite elements, and apertures either formed by the tongues &c. or separately provided. Transverse beads 4a may be disposed between the pressedout portions and flanges 2, 3, at the edges. In modifications stamped-out tongues may be bent over and connected to the opposite element or staggered bulges in one secured to the crowns of correspondingly disposed bulges in the other, ,flanged apertures also being provided between the bulges in the upper part of the elements. As a joist reinforcement for ceilings the girders are arranged between hollow filler blocks resting on their lower flanges and are centrally disposed within an upwardly diverging rib of in situ concrete.
