Abstract
628,626. Floors. EXERTIER, M. F., and PERRIN, C. A. Jan. 16, 1947, No. 1545. Convention date, Jan. 16, 1946. [Class 20(iv)] Reinforcement for concrete floors &c. comprises metal rib elements each embodying a flange 1 and at least three spaced webs 2, the outer two at least being of perforated or expanded metal which may be stiffened as by rods 3. Or in the case of thick rods required for deep beams a small mesh lattice may be welded to the element so as to be spaced from the web to retain the concrete. Additional reinforcement also serving as shuttering comprises a framework of T-irons 6 and rods 8 spanning the space between adjacent rib elements and having expanded metal welded to its underside, a gap being left over the elements to allow the concrete to fill the inter-web spaces. Ceiling slabs may be mounted by hooking their edges over lower lateral edges of the rib elements.
