Abstract
289,515. Weber, W. Jan. 25, 1927. Ironwork, constructional.-- A skeleton forming a support for shuttering and a permanent reinforcement for concrete buildings consists of very light angle or other profile irons of small cross section and wire lattice or other bracing, the flange width of the irons being two centimetres or less. Fig. 2a shows a box column a supporting box girders b, c by pins e. The wire bracing d may be hooked on or welded to the bars, and may be in a continuous zigzag length. The profile irons shown in Figs. 5, 6, 7 and 11 have grooves g into which the bracing is inserted and secured by pressing the flanges together or by welding, the bar in Fig. 5 being composed of two grooved irons welded together. Triangular or other box girders, Fig. 11, or flat plane girders, may be built in this manner. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 7210/14, [Class 20 (iv), Floors &c.].
