Abstract

702,963. Girders. HESS, H. Oct. 11, 1951 [Oct. 11, 1950; April 16, 1951], No. 23692/51. Class 20 (4) in non-metallic girders comprising upper and lower booms connected by braces 3, each brace h'as at least two tenons secured to the boom by water-insoluble glue, e.g. a synthetic resin or casein glue'. In the form shown, reinforcing blocks 5 are glued to the inner faces of the booms and the mortices need not extend into the boom. The bracing may comprise a number of braces side by side not parallel to the mid-plane of the girder or to one another. The tenons of abutting braces may partly overlap. Adjacent braces may be part of a continuous bar with a knee-bend out of which two tenons are milled, these fitting rounded mortices in the boom.
