Abstract
702,337. Ties for concrete wall and column shuttering. CHASE, G. March 10, 1952 [March 8, 1951], No. 5627/51. Class 20 (2). [Also in Group XXV] In wall shuttering, a bent wire tie 13, Fig. 2, passes through a tubular spacer 14 and through removable panels 10, 11 or pre-formed units forming permanent shuttering and is anchored at the bight by a toggle or as shown by a bracing tube 15, the free ends 13a, 13b of the tie being gripped by a serrated screw clamp 16. The tie is then tensioned to press the panels against the spacer by a crowbar 17 which permits the insertion of a wedge 18 between the clamp 16 and a bracing member 10a. In column shuttering the tubular spacer is omitted and the panels 10, 11, Fig. 7, are spaced apart by opposed sides 28, 29.
