Abstract
In the clarification, by accelerated decantation, of suspended particles the decanter is used in an oblique posn. and tube bundles carry out the sepn. The tube bundles may be substd. with or used in conjunction with plates inclined at-two slopes. The method can be applied to open appts. made of concrete or other material. Flocculation and decantation can be combined to make the best use of the space available. Sepn. takes place more rapidly and efficiently than in existing appts. in which sloping parallel plates are used. the process can be applied in plants operating under press.
