Class 51 (1) In an air-jacketed type of combustion chamber for a gas turbine or jet propulsion engine, the flame tube is supported within the outer casing by means of devices each comprising a hollow body part f having an inwardly-directed lip j at its inner end, an abutment piece k adjustably secured in the body part, a plunger n extending through the lipped end of the body and a spring p disposed between the plunger and the abutment piece. The abutment piece is in screw-threaded engagement with the body part and is locked by means of pegs m on the cover plate g. The flame tube is supported by three plungers, the upper one engaging a socket on the flame tube to prevent axial movement thereof and the two lower ones bearing against pads on the flame tube. In a second embodiment, the plunger has a central stem which engages in a recess in the abutment piece so as to guide the plunger, and coil type springs are employed in place of the resilient washers p shown in Fig. 3.
