Abstract

1320066 Spray carburetters DEUTSCHE VERGASER GmbH & Co KG 3 Nov 1971 [28 Dec 1970] 51133/71 Heading F1B The axially movable tube 18 containing a calibrated fuel nozzle 41 is biased in opposite directions by two compression springs 46 and 47, one or both of which are bi-metallic to adjust the axial position of the tube with variation in fuel temperature. In the embodiment shown the curved bi-metallic plates 48 of the spring 47 decrease in curvature with increase in temperature. In a modification, Fig.2 (not shown), the bi-metallic spring (58) acts between a flange 43 on the tube 18 and a shoulder in a stationary sleeve (52) surrounding the tube, the bi-metallic plates (57) increasing in curvature with increase in temperature. The bi-metallic spring may be helical and may be arranged above the flange 43. To adjust the position of the tube 18 on assembly a flexible tube from a constant level fuel chamber may be attached to the bottom of the tube 18 or the sleeve (52), Fig.2 (not shown), containing the tube and the nut 44 on the tube or the position of the sleeve adjusted. The needle 17 in the choke piston 14 may be adjustable.
