Abstract

Friction material for brakes, clutches and the like made by powder metallurgy (see Group XXII) has one layer formed from a pre-alloyed powder comprising 80 per cent copper, 10 per cent tin and 10 per cent lead and another layer formed from a mixture comprising 100 parts by weight of the pre-alloyed powder, 510 parts of electrolytic iron powder and 5-10 parts of flake graphite powder.
