Abstract

697,010. Pipe fittings. WHITEHOUSE & CO., Ltd., W. April 16 1951 [April 15, 1950], No. 9300/50. Class 99 (ii). [Also in Group XXIX]. A gas pipe wall fitting into which a flexible pipe coupling member may be plugged comprises a box 10 secured to the wall and having openings for a pipe coupling socket 111 and the stem 121 of a plug cock 123; The socket and cock are contained within the box and are connected by a junction-piece 13. The cock is connected to a gas supply pipe (not shown) extending through a side wall of the box. The socket is secured to the box by a pair of ring nuts 112. The operating handle 14 of the cock has means for preventing inadvertent actuation when the cock is closed (see Group XXIX). When there is a recess in the wall to accommodate the socket and cock a plate which is fixed flush with the wall is used instead of the box 10.
