Abstract

693,917. Scaffold clamper. KWIKFORM, Ltd. May 8, 1951 [May 8, 1950; Aug. 12, 1950], Nos. 11337/50 and 20070/50. Addition to 581,429. Class 20(ii) The scaffold clamp of the parent Specification is provided with a saddle 19 sliding between its limbs and having on one side two curved seatings at right angles either of which is adapted to engage the pole 18 nearest the clamping screw 14 and on the other side a single curved seating 20 engaging the other pole 17. A catch 25 is pivoted on the saddle which allows the clamp to be temporarily clamped on the pole 18 by the screw 14 which forces the catch 25 against a projection 28 while the pole 17 is inserted, whereupon the screw 14 is tightened further and forces the catch past the projection and clamps the poles securely. The first Provisional Specification, describes removable pins joining the limbs of the clamp and passing through slots in lugs in the saddle.
