693,123. Wicks for liquid fuel burners. HICK. A. W. Sept. 7. 1951 [Nov. 14, 1950] No. 27806/50. Class 75(i) A metal wick for kerosene and like burners comprises fine metal fibres or particles 1, Fig. 2, e.g. steel wool, packed between walls 2, 3 formed by folding a sheet of fine perforated metal, e.g. monel metal gauze. The wick is first formed flat and may then be bent into an annular or other desired shape, one end 4, Fig. 4, being passed between the walls of the other end 5, or alternatively, the ends abut or overlap each orher and are fastened by clips or left unfastened. To facilitate bending, the wick may be corrugated vertically.
