692,797. Indicating liquid levels, PARR, B. A June 6, 1951 [July 7, 1950], No. 17040/50. Class 123 (i). The liquid content of a tank 4 is indicated by a float 1 which is located in a tube 3 depending from the top of the tank and is connected by a flexible wire 2 to a pulley 6 on the end of a drum 7, said drum 7 and an associated spring drum 9, together with a graduated tape 10 passing over both drums, being mounted in an indicator casing which has a front cover 12 provided with an index 11 and a window 18. A correction for temperature changes may be effected by a second wire 15 which is anchored at one end to the tank and is connected at the other end to the bottom of the cover 12 which is slidable on the casing under the control of a spring 17. In a modification a bi-metallic strip or other temperature-responsive means is employed.
