Class 55(ii) In an air-humidifying apparatus, the motor 7, and the water-atomizing means driven thereby, project through and are carried by a ring 21 which carries also a water pan 27 and an outer casing 32. The ring 21 may be provided with means 24 for suspending it from a ceiling. The water-atomizing means comprise a water elevating tube 8 which rotates with the motor shaft and supplies water through a distributing head 9 to a disc 10 beyond which is a stationary comb-like baffle 11. An air impeller 13 draws air through a filter 34 at the base of the casing 32, over the top of the pan 27 and up through a central opening in a casing 18 which surrounds the impeller 13 and disc 10, and is secured to extensions 14 and legs 15 on the motor body. Cushions 16 are interposed between the legs 15, the casing 18 and extensions 17 of the legs 15 which extensions permit the water-atomizing means to be stood upon a surface, when removed from the ring 21, without damaging the tube 8. The filter may be of glass wool and may be in the form of one or more discs held at the edges by a U- section ring 33, the whole being releasably fastened to the casing 32 by clips 36. The water pan 27 is carried by posts 25 from the ring 21, screws 29 engaging under the beaded edge of the pan. A ballcock controlled water supply to the pan is provided and the pan is fitted with an overflow pipe. The casing 18 is surmounted by a casing 5 having outlets 6 for the humidified air.
