Abstract
688,402. Magnetic switches. TRIST & CO., Ltd., R. Oct. 1, 1951 [June 30, 1950], No. 16421/50. Class 38 (v) [Also in Groups XXIX and XXXV] In a magnetic coupling device wherein movement of one magnet effects the movement of another by magnetic attraction or repulsion each magnet is mounted in a tube such as 1 or 14 and held therein by magnetic attraction between the magnet and the tube or an element such as 15 or 21 inside the tube. The invention is shown applied to an arrangement similar to that disclosed in Specification 679,308. Movement of a pivoted magnet 2 operates magnets 12, 13 about their pivot 7, the magnet 13 operating in turn by repulsion a pivoted magnet 17 which operates a switch. The elements 15, 21 receive the pivot pins, holes for the latter not being readily borable in the hard material of the magnets. In the case of the magnet 17 two pivot pins engage holes in the tube 20.
