Abstract
730,125. Contact members for switches. VIGREN, S. D., BROBERG, W. O. W., and ZANDER, R. A. May 28, 1953, No. 14938/53. Class 38 (5). So that movable contact 3 is held without chatter against the fixed contact even while spring contact member 1 is vibrating, contact 3 is mounted on a spring tongue 2 flexed outwards from member 1. So that the space occupied by a contact spring assembly may be little increased by the distance contact 3 is flexed from member 1 in the contact open position, operating member 8 presses tongue 2 against member 1 as it moves the latter against its own tension into the contact-open position. Member 8 moves away from the tongue in the contact-closed position, so that the anti-bounce characteristic of tongue 2 may be effective. Two contacts 3 may be mounted on halves of a split tongue 2 (Fig. 2, not shown), or the tongue 2 may itself be of contact material, e.g. silver.
