688,333. Watches. SAUNDERS, E. L. Nov. 14, 1951 [Dec. 1, 1950]. No. 29453/50. Class 139. A watch glass has a concave central portion 2, Fig. 2; a peripheral wall 1 curved upwardly and inwardly towards the central portion in convex manner, and an outwardly-extending reduced flange 3 at the lower part of the peripheral wall, the whole being made of resilient material such as to permit deformation of the central portion into a convex shape, Fig. 3, for sufficient reduction of the diameter of the outwardly-extending flange to allow its introduction into a watch rim recess 4 of smaller diameter than the flange before reduction, and such that upon removal of the deforming force from the central portion it tends to revert to its concave shape and thereby cause the flange to expand and be forcibly urged into the watch rim recess to form a tight seal.
