Abstract
717,217. Valve amplifying circuits. METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. June 5, 1953 [Aug. 5, 1952], No. 19698/52. Class 40 (6) A cathode-follower type circuit in which the output may be made exactly equal to the input both in amplitude and in D.C. level comprises a first cathode follower V1 coupled to a second cathode follower V2 via a series resistor R2. The anode of a compensating valve V3 is connected to the grid of the valve V2 and its cathode via a resistor R3 to an adjustable tap on the cathode load resistor VR4 of the valve V2; unity gain is obtained by adjustment of this tapping point. The grid of the valve V3 is connected to a bias potentiometer VR1 whereby the D.C. levels may be equalized. As an alternative, the cathode of the valve V3 may be returned to an adjustable tap on the cathode resistor R1 of the first valve,
