Abstract

681,117. Sliding clasp fasteners. SANDER, E. Sept. 1, 1950 [Sept. 5, 1949], No. 21597/50. Class 44 A sliding clasp fastener comprises two strips of rubber or the like having interengaging wedge section ribs and grooves. In the form of Fig. 1 one strip 1 has a rib 3 for engagement in a groove 10 in the other strip 2, and a central under-cut beading 5 gripping the edge 6 of the marginal rib 4 of the other strip. In the form of Fig. 3, the strips are symmetrical about a longitudinal axis, the front of the inner strip 1 having a groove 7 to receive a rib 8 on the other. The strips may be reinforced by longitudinal filaments and one of the strips may be provided with suction recesses fastening against a plane face of the other.
