679,663. Rotary cultivators. GES. FUR CHEMISCHE WERTE AKT.-GES. Feb. 15, 1950 [March 4, 1949], No. 3935/50. Class 6(i) In a rotary cultivator 5 which is connected to and driven by a twowheeled tractor 1, the drive shaft to the cultivator has a universal joint 9, 10 which is enclosed within a housing comprising two parts 12, 13, pivoted together in the vertical plane passing through .the centre c of the universal joint and the bearings 17, 18 at the ends of the two parts of the driving shaft are brought close to the axis of the pivots 14. The radius d, Fig. 3, within which the cultivator can operate is thereby reduced. The housing 12, 13 includes oil seals 22 and 23 and can be filled with oil through a port 21.
