675,850. Variable-pitch propellers. LIAAEN, N. J. March 24, 1949, No. 18823/51. Divided out of 675,767. Class 114. In a propeller in which the pitch is varied by a rod 4 sliding inside the propeller shaft, the consequential variation in pressure in the oil filling the hub is reduced by the end of the rod moving in a sleeve 8. This sleeve contains air which is maintained at atmospheric pressure by a bore 9 in the sliding rod.
