Class 20(iii) A window unit, particularly for a vehicle comprises a glass pane 1 surrounded by a metal frame 2 and a frame-like fixing-plate 6 constructed in two or more sections which are united to each other after being secured in the channel 5 around the frame. 'The portions of the fixing-plate 6 are secured by rivets or the like, mitre joints being used.. The frame 2 may also be formed in two or more sections and the fixing-plate is preferably riveted thereto at spaced points. An additional channel 8 may be provided to accommodate a second fixed or a sliding pane.
